By entering your email address on The Bearing Site you are agreeing that The Bearing Site can send you promotional emails or any other information unless you say otherwise.

If you wish to pay online, The Bearing Site will retain the last 4 digits of your credit card number and credit card type. It will not be stored or shared with anyone other than The Bearing Site. By uploading your stock you are agreeing to let all other users of The bearing Site view your inventory.

1. Who are we?

We are The Bearing Site Ltd, a web based company which offers bearing and transmission buyers/distributors a chance to upload their stocks online to receive enquiries, or to sign up and send enquiries themselves.

2. How do we collect information from you?

All visitors to The Bearing Site will have their information collected. The Bearing Site uses Google Analytics to help analyse how non members use the site and to also help us improve the site. We also collect your information if you sign up/pay etc.

3. What information do we collect and how is it used?

We collect information to help us analyse how visitors are using the site, to log information of companies that have signed up and also the last 4 digits of your credit card number and credit card type, so that recurring payments can be made automatically.

3.0. Sensetive data

We do not gather sensetive personal data (health, genetic, biometric data; racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, sexual orientation or criminal convictions) We request that information such as this is not given to us.

3.1. Third parties

We will not sell or rent your company information to third parties. We may use your company name in our marketing emails to promote our members but this is all.

We may pass your information onto third parties who are in need of something that you can provide. We disclose only the basic company and contact information that is neccesary to contact you for your services.

Collects supplier, client and potential client information to allow inital and ongoing contact.

Data is retained until request for deletion.

CRM - Linode

Holds supplier, client and potential client information to allow inital and ongoing contact.

Data is retained until request for deletion.

Server backups - Amazon web services & Backlaze

Backs up website information in case of disaster recovery.

Data is retained until cessation of contract or business activities.

Invoicing and accounts - Sage one start

Holds supplier and customer information and all invoice details.

Data is retained indefinitely for ongoing invoicing and accoutning records.

Analytics - Google analytics

This is to monitor website visitor behaviour - full IP address is not stored.

Data is retained for 14 months.

Email marketing - Mailchimp

To send newsletters and any information to our subscribers.

Data is retained until requests to unsubscribe are made.

DNS log data - Cloudflare

Cloudflare provides DNS, web optimization and secturity services for our websites.

Data is retained indefinitely.

4. Controlling your information

You have certain rights concerning the information we hold about you, as defined under the General Data Protection Regulation. If you wish to exercise these rights, please contact us. 

4.0. Requesting a copy of your information

You may request a copy of any data we hold about you. Upon request, we will provide the personal data we hold on record about you within one month of recipt.

4.1. Updating or correcting your information

The accuracy of your information is important to us. If you change email address, or any of the other information we hold is innacurate or out of date, please contact us so that we can correct it.

4.2. Deleting your information

You have the right to request for us to erase any of your personal information. Unless there is a compelling reason for the data not to be erased (e.g. we need the data to fulfil our contractual or legal obligations) your person data can and will be deleted on request.

We at The Bearing Site Ltd take security very seriously. In order to protect your information from loss, misuse or unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.
